Large scale Drupal sites have been difficult to deploy, due to the complexities of integrating multiple pieces of infrastructure. Many have resorted to using hosting companies that provide an out-of-the-box solution. However, this locks you in to one vendor. Kubernetes allows you to break that lock and host your entire site, at global scale, on pure open source software.
This training will introduce you to Kubernetes, a container orchestrator, including how to deploy new object definitions, infrastructure, and security certificates.
- Understand the differences between Kubernetes and traditional hosting (self and managed)
- List of various hosting options (self, managed)
- Develop containerization strategies for Drupal sites
- Build Kubernetes object definitions
